Does anyone remember the Pay family who lived at The Butts. Brothers Ted, Harry & their sister Lizzie? They were my great uncles & aunt & I am researching my family tree & would love to hear from anyone with info on them. Thanks! |

I remember Harry Pay. I also vaguely remember going to his house on the Butts when I was very young and doing "Bob-a-job" for the scouts. He used to help my father by digging a piece of ground we owned beside the Ash road level crossing. |

Many thanks for that, Derek. It's good to meet someone who remembers them. They also had other siblings, one of whom, John, I have recently discovered died in France during the 1st world war. His name is shown on the Sandwich war memorial. It seems that Harry lived in Australia for a while but returned to UK after his wife died. I used to visit them when I was a small child.
