Hi Linda Interesting,i thought we were going to do the nostalgic thing and do the Empire Cinema and Sandwich Youth Club all in the same evening(not to be taken seriously). I thought you of all people would'nt take my remark that literally or seriously for that matter, maybe the wording could have been arranged a little better, but my pda definetly says date book and not appointment book.I know its very difficult to win an argument with a female, but i'm trying!!!!!Probably digging myself into a bigger hole. Hi Trevor Interesting comments about the cinema in Sandwich - What's all this about a date? I hope you don't mind the whole family coming along!!!

Hi again Yes saturday morning pictures was my highlight of the week,in our case it was catch the bus to Sandwich from Ash,admission to the film and an ice cream cost 10d,less than a shilling,it was also a great place to get to know people from other schools.I agree with you Colin with the bag being bigger than ouselves,in those days it was carry a full set of clubs for 9 holes, half way you might get offered a fruity sweet out of a tin and 1 pound at the end the round, and if you were lucky you might get asked to do it again after lunch on the back nine, not bad money in those days! If you have'nt already and this goes for anyone else, have you put your name on the friends reunited site, the address is...www.friendsreunited.co.uk where you can enter your name in the year you left school, great site, nearly as good as the open sandwich one.

Did you ever go to the empire pictures on a saturday morning, cost about 9p and 3p for a bag of crisps and if you was lucky you got 2 blue bags of salt...those were the days, now living in a high set queenslander in bundy, long way from the council home in St barts.

Hi everyone My wife Nina & i will be back in the old country in Aug - Sept, love Australia but Britain is a fantastic place to visit. Its not till you get older that you appreciate the architecture of old buildings, the castles etc with the back drop of green countyside that we don't see in Perth. Yes Colin i used to do the cross country run and hated it,wasn't aware of the run to Sandwich Bay,from memory our run was a very hot day and our last year at Sandwich, half a dozen of us rebelled by going for a dip just outside Worth and the six of us crossing the finish line together drenched, for some reason we were all let off ,possibly because we all played alot of sport under Mr Foxs' supervision,he was a great teacher and i think most would agree.I also remember the salt lakes and mud running not far from there on the stour mud flats, getting completely filthy and jumping in the salt lakes to clean off, what else do you remember about the salt lakes Colin? I lived in Sandwich for a while when i married for the first time, but actually came from Ash,so going back for a holiday we will base ourselves in Broadstairs,my wifes home town and visit Sandwich often, probably getting off on just walking the streets to spot someone i knew over 25 years ago(how sad is that).I do have one special date and thats with Linda Rowan,we've been emailing each other over 2 yrs and haven't seen each other for 35,so that will be interesting.I will personally checkout Market St to St Georges,i used to walk it alot when i caddied there,i would say its more like 3km Erica! Would welcome contact from anyone who knew me. Trevor

| I am busy again looking through the pages, hoping to find news of the people I am looking for,. Message I had written earlier this year. What I have noticed, the people leaving and receiving messages are mainly living overseas in all corners of the world. Like me, South Africa. Is there anyone staying in Sandwich reading the messages?? Come on dear Citizen of Sandwich, join us in this wonderful Page. And "HALLO" to all of you,in Australia, Canada, NZ, etc. we have something in common our time living at some stage in SANDWICH. From beautiful Cape Town , Renate
