When I lose a ball on my golf course, usually only 2 people look for it. When Tiger Woods loses a ball, some 20/30 people look for it. There is a 5 minute limit before the ball must be declared lost. Clearly 20 people looking for 5 minutes = the equivalent of 1 person looking for 100 minutes or 1 hour 40 minutes. On the other hand a less important player might find only 3 or 4 people available to help find his ball. Surely there is a need to restrict the number of people who look for a ball, as the difference can cost 2 strokes!

A News Letter would be a good idea, as would an Australian - Sandwich site or club. Problem: it needs someone (Frequently called the sucker or the hero) to translate the idea into an organised entity. Any Suckers ready to volunteer ?????

A thought upon the comment from Peter C Dyson on 01 July 2003 Farr High School Bettyhill Scotland about the Grammar in the guest book. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -The English language is at its best a bastard language which has and still is evolving, neither its form (Grammar and spelling) in the 12th century would not have been comprehended in the 14th century, likewise for the 16th etc. The spelling that Mr. Chesterfield taught would now be considered archaic even in the Oxford English Dictionary. (God bless all the colonies past and present) so I say to our purist English Teacher from Scotland, yes you are being pedantic. Change with the times.

| Yes. Anyone who has any connection to Sandwich must be delighted to see familiar names, places and enjoy reading about the memories of what it was like to have fun in those far off pre-digitized day. Thanks Sue.
